About

The mobility hub is located at Portway Park & Ride, directly adjacent to a bus stop served by the high frequency route 9. Within a two minute walk is the Portway Park & Ride train station, which opened in August 2023. The rail station provides services to several destinations across the region, including Bristol Temple Meads, Bath, and Severn Beach.

The station's redevelopment includes an accessible platform, smart ticket machines and readers, live departure screens and a help point. The works also expanded the parking capacity at the site including accessible spaces. The hub builds on existing bus based Park & Ride and recently opened railway station, traveller facilities and urban realm in the surrounding, and adds the following components:

  • Formalised escooter and bike hire parking with planters
  • Secure cycle lockers
  • Mobility hub totem and wayfinding
  • Cycle pump and repair stand
  • Public wi-fi
  • Parklet with integrated seating
  • Publicly accessible defibrillator
