The Gainsborough Square site is located in the Lockleaze area, adjacent to a large local park, next to the Gainsborough Square and Cameron Walk bus stops. Opposite the site is a local community centre known as The Hub. Across the park, there are several local amenities including a grocery store, barber shop, post office, and pharmacy. The square has undergone recent redevelopment to provide high quality public realm and community space for residents, as well as a number of new local services and amenities. The hub includes: e-scooter and e-bike hire parking bookended by planters, cycle parking 'M shaped Sheffield stands, mobility hub totem and wayfinding, cycle pump and repair stand, free wi-fi, a publicly accessible defibrillator, a drinking fountain, plus community art. A parcel locker is planned.
