Logos

Logo usage and clear space

The logo should be used full colour with the strapline on a white background when possible.

Clear space is the area surrounding the logo that must be kept free of competing text or graphic elements. Leaving space around the logo ensures it will stand out appropriately. The preferred clear space is equal to the height and width of the CoMoUK marque. No additional text or graphic element should encroach on this space.

Logo formats

.svg

Scalable vector graphic - can be scaled without loss of quality. Usually smallest file size and best format for digital use.

USE: most digital applications

.png

Pixelated file suitable for web and print but loses quality when scaled up. Also has transparent background so can be used over images and colours.

.jpg

Pixelated file most suitable for photos, but should not be used for vector based graphics like our logo as larger file size than .png.

.eps

Vector file like SVG that can be scaled to any size without losing quality, put has information for printers that SVG doesn't. Best for print, especially large scale like signage when scaled up.

.pdf

Can be viewed on any computer but also retains vector information so can be used by printers to scale up, similar to EPS
