About the event

CoMoUK and the West of England Mayoral Combined Authority are pleased to invite you to a roadshow at one of the UK's first mobility hubs at University of West of England in Bristol. We are very grateful to Trueform for sponsoring this event.

Please join us for a buffet lunch, followed by a range of presentations from CoMoUK and local representatives on the development of the West of England pilot hubs. Trueform will also speak about providing the signage and infrastructure at these hubs.

Following the presentations there will be a chance to join guided tours of the local hubs. There will also be a networking session with a chance to try out of a range of operators' shared bikes, e-scooters and cars.

Programme

  • 12:00 - Lunch, networking and an opportunity to try a range of shared transport vehicles.
  • 13:00 - A series of presentations about mobility hub development:
    • Richard Dilks, Chief Executive, CoMoUK: Progress on hub development in the UK
    • Representative of West of England Mayoral Combined Authority: Mobility hub strategy and delivery
    • Robert Davis, Sustainable Travel Lead, Trueform: Building hub infrastructure
    • Paul Roberts, Head of Environment & Sustainability, UWE: The benefits of the mobility hub to the University staff and students
    • Tom Morgan, CEO and Founder, Supersmith: Developing an adapted 3 wheeled scooter
  • 14:15 - Walking tour to the UWE mobility hub, led by West of England, (20 mins in each direction), led by Meristem Design.
  • 15:15 - Refreshments, networking and another opportunity to try a range of shared transport vehicles.
  • 15:30 - Optional tours to two further local West of England mobility hubs:
    • Choice A: an e-bike or e-scooter tour to the mobility hubs at Horfield Library and Gainsborough Square led by West of England.
    • Choice B: a tour with WESTlink buses to the mobility hubs at Abbey Wood Shopping Park and Filton Church led by Meristem.
  • 16.30 - Event end with optional social drink close to Bristol Parkway Rail Station (The Beaufort Arms).

Getting here

Location

Enterprise Park 1, UWE Frenchay campus, Long Down Avenue, Stoke Gifford, Bristol BS34 8QZ

From Bristol Parkway Station

Bus

The M4 bus takes 10 mins and runs every 20 mins from outside the station entrance. Alternatively, the No. 19 bus runs about once an hour. The cost should be £2.40.

Both arrive at Frenchay Campus, Stop D. There is then a 13 minute walk to Enterprise 1. See bus stop map.

Dott e-bike/e-scooter

You can pick up an e-bike or e-scooter just outside the station. They can be found on the main road, about a 3 minute walk - view map to e-bikes and e-scooters.

Taxi

A taxi costs between £8 - £11 and takes approximately 5 mins.

Walking

The venue is approximately 30 minutes by foot from the station.

From the city centre

Bus

You can get to UWE in about 30 minutes using the M1/M3/M4 buses, followed by a walk to Enterprise Park.
