Mobility-as-a-Service and the future of shared transport

Worldline UK is delighted to have joined CoMoUK as an associate member. Worldline’s track record in providing solutions to the public transport market reaches back to the first UK railway computerisation.

As a leading digital payment provider, Worldline believes that mobility as a service provides a foundation for integrated public and shared transport systems to become as easy to use as getting in privately owned cars. Access to public transport networks should not need a PHD in Rocket Science and should support social mobility.

Creating or adapting transport systems to be more considerate of the wider and more varied needs of travellers is essential to the success of a MaaS-led future. We believe that open collaboration is fundamental to the success of MaaS, just as open data and open source computer code have driven seismic shifts, with people commonly using at least one open data or open source technology every day.

Worldline is working closely with transport authorities, operators, influencers and Government to understand the benefits that MaaS can bring to people and planet. Worldline have joined CoMoUK because we truly believe in their mission and ambition, the community is like minded in its absolute determination to build a better sustainable transport system for people and the planet.

Martin Howell, Transport Market Director for Worldline UK, said: “Worldline are delighted to be joining the CoMoUK network. We believe that by enabling integrated public transport and shared mobility systems that work for everyone, it is possible to create new ways of living and working that reflect a 21st century approach to travel which at its heart must support the future of the planet and its people.
